October 2014 – July 2015
Client: City of Playford and the University of Adelaide
Seed was engaged by the City of Playford and the University of Adelaide to prepare a business case for the development of a Horticulture Innovation and Development Centre for the Northern Adelaide Plains.
The project identified the potential for growth of horticulture in the region and priority issues from across the food supply chain that if addressed, could increase the value of production; potentially doubling it to $500 million within 5 years.
The project involved interviewing key industry and government representatives, developing a horticulture economic growth model and preparing a business case to justify investment in innovation and development in the region.
Seed was able to provide the City of Playford and the University of Adelaide with a final paper that provides a comprehensive list of options required to underpin future major investment in the growth of horticulture in this region.
